You can now send your Zakat Al Fitr to refugee families most in need, through UNHCR’s Refugee Zakat Fund. Based on the recent fatwa issued by the prestigious Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy, UNHCR can receive and distribute Zakat Al Fitr in the form of cash to refugee families.
On a community level, the goal of Zakat Al Fitr is to relieve the poor during Eid festival: it is meant to ensure that the whole society is indeed enjoying Eid, without leaving anyone behind, or having anyone to worry about survival.
