COVID-19 Emergency Appeal
UNHCR is committed to preventing and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic on behalf of refugee families everywhere.
COVID-19 does not discriminate. Refugees are at the same risk of contracting and transmitting the virus as local populations. However, over 80% of the global refugee population and nearly all of world’s internally displaced people are hosted in low to middle-income countries, which have weaker health and water and sanitation systems.
We are urgently upscaling our relief efforts for refugees in areas of water, sanitation, hygiene and healthcare. We are also raising awareness in the camps in order to prevent the spread of the virus and building isolation units in case of infections.
As thousands of already vulnerable families find themselves amid increasing poverty due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions, UNHCR is working tirelessly to ensure that refugee and displaced families have their basic needs such as shelter, food, water and medicine.
But we can’t do this alone, please donate TODAY.
