Behind every funding cut is a person losing protection, assistance or the chance to rebuild their life.
As of July 2026, UNHCR had received only 32% of the funding needed for the year. Nearly 8.3 million forcibly displaced people are now at risk of losing access to critical assistance.
We must act now. Please support those who need you most.
The impact is already being felt
Afghanistan
More than one million people have returned or been forced to return in 2026. Cash grants supporting them upon arrival have been reduced from $375 per person to $170 per household.
Syria
Unless additional funding is received quickly, 162,500 vulnerable internally displaced people and refugee returnees will miss the financial assistance intended to help them meet basic needs and rebuild their lives during the initial stages of return.
Lebanon
Up to 11,000 refugees will be left without timely registration, restricting their access to essential services and protection.
