Many refugees and families in need live under the poverty line, and thus may resort to reducing the number of daily meals for family members, including children. When preparing lunch or dinner for your family today, if you can, prepare a bit more food to share with some of these families in your neighbourhood. Inform the family you want to help that you will be providing a meal for them today, or for several days. And know that a meal could be your way into heaven, for the Prophet (pbuh) said: “O people, provide food (to people), keep relations with your kin, and pray at night when people are asleep, and you will enter Paradise in peace.” Related by At-Tirmidhi. For he has made feeding the needy a way to enter Paradise.
