Many refugees, after fleeing violence and persecution, settle in informal settlements or urban areas, where they depend on emergency food aid that keeps them alive and helps them recover and regain stability in their lives. You too can help them cover some of their food staples from your own pantry. Ask about their most important food needs and lend a helping hand to the poor and needy among them, for as the Prophet (pbuh) said: Some people open the door to good and close the door to evil, and some people open the door to evil and close the door to good. Glad tidings to those in whose hands Allah places the keys to good, and woe to those in whose hands Allah places the keys to evil.”
