Afghanistan remains one of the most complex humanitarian situations in the world. Severe economic hardships combined with the effects of over 40 years of conflict, resulted in millions displaced and in desperate need of support to meet basic needs.
Now, with winter temperatures known to drop to minus 15 degrees Celsius, tens of thousands of displaced families who live in hard living conditions in makeshift shelters that do not protect against the cold, need UNHCR’s life-saving winter assistance.
The UNHCR Winterization Programme is focused on the emergency response provision of core relief items (blankets, tarpaulins, gas cooker, kitchen sets, solar lanterns), shelter interventions and improvements, winter cloths and targeted cash assistance.
Your donations will go a long way in giving Afghani displaced people, access to safety, warmth and dignified living conditions this winter.
