The devastation caused by the floods has been catastrophic.
As the death toll continues to rise in the wake of Storm Daniel, the situation in Libya is devastating. Scores are missing and even more have been displaced. Tens of thousands are in need of urgent relief.
Approximately 884,000 people who live in the five provinces have been directly affected by the storm and flash floods and available data indicates that at least 30,000 individuals have been displaced in Derna. This represents more than 8,000 families.
Your donation will go towards supporting those who need it most.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, continues to work closely with national and international partners and began distributing core relief items to 1,200 people in Derna – including blankets, tarpaulins, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, clothes and solar lamps. An emergency team has also been deployed and an emergency hotline has been activated.
But there is much more to be done, and we need help to scale up our response. You can make a difference.
