An invitation to show solidarity with those in need, especially in these difficult times, brings blessing and reward to those who give, and rest and fulfilment for those who receive. Solidarity is not limited to providing financial or in-kind assistance, but also extends to simple human gestures that bring happiness to the hearts of others. Connect with one of the families in need in your neighbourhood and invite them to a hot meal at your home. By doing so, you might be bringing joy to their hearts and the hearts of their children.
Allah (Sublime be He) said: “And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive * (saying) “We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. * “We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord.” * But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy.” (Surat al-Insan, verses 8-11).
