The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) is chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, UNHCR’s Eminent Advocate (EA), and President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
TBHF has been a prominent partner and supporter of the UNHCR and its mandate, and it has contributed a sum of USD 28.3 million since 2012 to support around 1 million refugees and internally displaced persons.
In 2021, TBHF funded child protection projects in Lebanon and Mauritania aiming to provide counseling, skill development and vocational training to 39,138 Syrian and Malian refugee children. It also took part in the UNHCR’s DAFI higher education program by sponsoring 25 students.
